Our Mission

Baobab Collectives acts on a dual-pronged approach geared towards women and youth to address urgent needs in the community. This approach helps us to advocate for racial and gender equality by empowering women and youth to be the best that they can be.

What is baobab?

Baobab trees are native to the African continent and have a lifespan of hundreds and hundreds of years. They have traditionally been valued as sources of food, water, health remedies or places of shelter and are steeped in legend. They resemble upside down trees where the branches evoke the idea of our uprooted past and of our fruitful and resilient future.
