Youth Literacy Program
This program is a virtual book club designed for youth ages eight to twelve to support them in mastering their critical thinking skills. However, this program is not limited to education and was designed with the intention of also providing youth with a safe space to socialize through discussion and games.
Services For Women
baobab Digital
Baobab Digital provides an opportunity for under-represented women to learn digital literacy. The acquisition of these skills will enable them to engage independently and confidently with technology. We understand the importance and need for seeing more women working in and with technology.
Therefore, we will aim to facilitate the learning process by increasing their access to opportunities and other skill-building such as communication, critical problem-solving, and teamwork.
Entrepreneurship 101
Our Entrepreneurship 101 program provides women with the tools and confidence necessary to create and execute a business plan – with solid foundations – to bring their plans from paper to concrete reality.
This 10-week program is designed to educate and lead women who are new to Canada in achieving their dreams and aspirations in business. Each week explores a new topic essential to starting a business. Each topic will be presented through the lens of introducing women and their cultural background into the Canadian business sector. This program will assist with unraveling those business ideas and guide them through the steps that need to be taken to get their business ventures going. Upon completion of the program, Baobab Collectives’ hope is that participants will feel empowered, confident and educated enough to take their business plan, resources, and knowledge to make their goals a reality.
Events
Youth Financial Literacy
This event consists of a virtual presentation that aims to provide youth with information about taxes, paycheques, benefits, and more. There will also be a follow-up event that will provide youth with access to a tax clinic.
